IBM Gets BigFix
Seems it can tell if servers, PCs and laptops don’t comply with corporate policies

IBM is buying California-based BigFix Inc, whose software is used to automate otherwise time-intensive security and compliance updates on thousands of computers at a time. Seems it can tell if servers, PCs and laptops don't comply with corporate policies and can update 500,000 in minutes. It claims 700 customers in the federal government, financial services, retail, entertainment, healthcare and education, has 200 employees and 120 resellers. It's already a partner of IBM Global Services but will become part of IBM's software operation. IBM didn't disclose terms but Bloomberg says it's paying about $400 million.
